The corn field TIK took me to where there are lots of AmerIndian burials. He said in this field they found graves that are paleolithic and the bodies were encased in clay sarcophagi which is unheard of in this part of the country but they did it to preserve them from floods in this alluvial field by the Susquehanna river.

TIK walking towards the Knouse burial site where when PPL was putting in the concrete bases for the huge power lines from the nuclear power plan they found burials and they wanted to hide them but He stopped them for two years whilst JC as an archeology student helped dig them up. Now most of the burial remains are in the state museum in Harrisburg PA. This is also the site where Dr Santee and Lady Phoebe and the whole town watched and where she told them to dig at a certain spot and they would find a female with beads and they did and she was right on.

TIK graciously gave me a copy of Dr Santee’s book, mine having been lost when i lent it to someone who never returned and then moved to Maine. Thanks TIK as this mean a lot to me.

Bear claw marks in the maple behind my house where i surprised a 400+ pound bear and it fled up the tree and i walked within touching distance unaware he was up there because i was looking around with the flashlight 360 and down into the stream. After i walked maybe 10 feet away i saw him, screamed and ran to my neighbors LOL.

A lovely old heavy concrete statue we have named Hyacinthe after the flower she is holding which is actually a fountain i have to hook up. I spotted this in front of a house in town and the lady was going to just give it to me but her i wanted to give her at lease $5 which was all i had on me but her husband wanted $10 so i took her home and told him i would bring the other $5 and sold something and gave it to him later that night, me being a man of my word, he being a greedy sob.

Does a bear shit in the woods? Yes, and here’s proof. BTW they are constipated when they come out of hibernation and eat skunk cabbage as a laxative so the first poops are hard. I showed this to my neighbor and he said “Well if it is still warm then slowly walk away” LOL

Well, i am Finally done posting the last 6 weeks of pictures and i hope the few people who read this blog enjoy them. Blessings.

6 Weeks in the Life of an Appalachian Witch – Part 3

Here are some more pics from the month of May 2015. Enjoy !

Honouring the bones of a Huron AmerIndian burial dug up legally in the 1930s and to be returned to them if they would just answer my emails or if i could find a Native American who would re-bury them for me, but i can’t. So, I will do it myself somewhere with the corn meal offering and for now the yellow candle. In that cache is a couple human teeth and the rest is animal bones, shells, burnt corn, a dried mushroom, and a copper with bone handled fleshing knife.

A couple weeks ago i found this baby mouse belly up and near death at the Red Lodge. It was so young its eyes were not open. I put it in a box with some tissues and kept trying to at least give it some water and milk with a dropper. I carried it around for a day and a half, even in the car on a trip up to Wapwallpen. It stayed alive and i petted it and carried it around in my shirt pocket. Finally when i was visiting Dr Santee’s grave it died. I cried and cried because i tried and tried to keep it alive, but it was just too long. This picture is the dead little baby mousie cradled in the arms of a Buddha statue, and then i put tobacco all over it and laid it before the Goddess in Snakehenge, and then i buried it facing east under the hemlock where other critters are buried. RIP and be reborn in the womb of a mother mouse in a safe place and live a long life little mousie…

As i said i took another trip up to Wapwallopen to visit TIK and his wife where i was graciously fed and bedded over night. Now this is the guy with the house FULL of AmerIndian artifacts i would guess at $3 million in value. The next day he gave me a tour of the various AmerIndian burial grounds in the area and to Fredna falls which Janee aka Lady Phoebe Athene Nimue aka Fredna and Fred aka Frederick LaMotte Santee aka Lord Merlin named after themselves together thus Fredna Falls. I will post pics of both events in the next post or so. TIK also took me on the way back to Santee’s grave where his parents are buried also and i had him snap this picture of my by Dr Santee’s grave. Thanks TIK and Shirley.

On the way home i finally stopped at what i thought was a cemetery which i have driven by for decades and yes there are two nun cemeteries but there is also a huge cathedral dedicated to St Cyril and a nunnery and a school for girls.

My Teacher, Lady Phoebe Athene Nimue, Would Have Been 94 Today

Coven of the Catta

Today is the birthday of Lady PAN, and as the title says she would have been 94 had she lived this long instead of passing 5 December 2005, so this December she will be gone for 10 years. I loved that Lady, my Teacher of Witchcraft. I am going to try to paste into this post a short bio from a Word doc which is in the booklets I have written about the Coven of the Catta.

A Few Days in the Life of an Appalachian Witch 11-13 March 2015 – NSFW

Happy Friday the 13th ! 13 was considered unlucky by the Xians because there was JHShVH and the 12 Disciples so the that made 13 and the unlucky one was Judas Iscariot who betrayed him though St Peter denied him too, so does that make the Rock upon which the Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church founded by an unlucky man ????

Anyway here is a photo dump from the last few days with explanations below. One picture is R rated so if you are not 18-21+ then bug out of this post now please. All photographs Copyright the listed photographers except the Tumblr images from multiple sources. Enjoy !

A Day in the Life of an Appalachian Witch 19-20 February 2015 – A Trip to Wapwallopen and some Weird Synchronocities with the Living and the Dead

Coven of the Catta

After no sleep at 4am I spontaneously drove north to the Berwick / Nescopeck / Wapwallopen area. I stopped half way up that two hour trip and took an hour long cat nap in a parking lot of an abandoned business distribution center.

Unfortunately i was not able to meet with two of the High Priestesses in the Coven d/t their schedules. I did meet with an old coven member for awhile before she had her son, whom i had never met before, take her to a doctor’s appointment to have her new pacemaker checked out, something i did of course for 11 years. Her home health aid was there and Lady Persephone and I were able to talk Witchcraft openly in from of the aid and the son for a short time, then i moved on.

So i decided to visit Council Cup mountain again after a trip to…

Lee’s Photo Dump from the Last Week or so – All Pictures Copyright GLHoke 2015

Photos taken in the last few weeks. All photographs Copyright GLHoke 2015. If you want to know the place, date and context of the photo, please email me at leeshawnus@gmail.com though no one has ever done that. It is very late, and i am too tired to add comments, maybe tomorrow. Blessed Be and Enjoy !!!

OK, in the not so bright state of my first cup of coffee and a cigarillo i will attempt to ID some of these pics and their context. Descriptions above not below the pics.

Huge clay pickling jar with blue pentagram at local flea market co-op. Sorry the pic is slightly out of focus, but it was worth photographing it and i did not not the focus being off until too late.

13 Feb (1)

At same co-op a Civil War Calvary officer’s sword and sheath.

13 Feb (2)

Old straight razors. i am bought a cheaper one somewhere else and am going to attempt to use it to same on throw away razors for environmental and financial reasons. I already have the strap for sharpening it like at the old Barbour shops.

13 Feb (3)

Seven miles upriver there was a major AmerIndian battle over a large arrowhead shaped stone that was a talisman of victory in war. This is a smaller version made of stone not native found by the old coot who is extremely intelligent and world smart on his property. I will explore the area and walk the river when it is not like Antarctica  outside.

15 Feb (1)

Yea a warm morning here….

15 Feb (2)

Looking down through the old coot’s junk laden yard towards the battle site. Note the beam of light in the pic. It feels weird there and i am getting a chill now just thinking about it.

15 Feb (3)

His old 140 year old falling apart barn he is going to tear down and sell the weathered oak, which is one inch thick, and the old signage for the old hotel in town.

15 Feb (4)

Closeup of the smaller arrow head shaped marker stone. Looks like a dark oil shale stone to me, not too common here, but sometimes seen in this coal region.

15 Feb (6)

Cauldrons of iron and copper at the local co-op. I already have more cauldrons than a Coven of Macbeth’s Witches LOL.

15 Feb (8) 15 Feb (9) 15 Feb (10) 15 Feb (11)

In a town nearby, on a road i have never driven, i found a place where they carve headstones for graves. It was closed d/t his/her father dying. How ironic. Nearby i found these standing stones and will wait a few days to call and find out what the hell they are and who erected them.

Footprints in the snow of the frozen stream of rabbits, birds and a cat walking out to my neighbor’s bridge. BTW i saw prints of a maybe 2 year old bear, not sure what he/she is doing out of hibernation this time of year, but with nothing to eat in nature i am sure it will be hitting the garbage cans, my bird feeders, and any fawns it can run down.

20 Feb (6)

In the big old outhouse near the Red Lodge aka Black Cabin i am going to raise chickens this spring and here are some of the hens for sale locally, some of which lay coloured eggs. But i can get mine free from several friends, and laying cages for them too, just have to put up a fence to keep out the foxes and other predators.

20150221_131742

The deep artificial lake nearby has over a foot of frozen ice, so ice fishermen were out, crazy people i guess lol, and i walked around the middle of the lake, first time since 2005.

The Duties of a Witch High Priestess and High Priest for a Wiccan Rite of Passage even for someone you do not know, but who Is a Witch

Coven of the Catta

i have been dwelling for days trying to write the words to this blog post, because there are so many profound angles and synchronicitys to it all. So i am just going to ramble on and tell it.

To supplement my meager SSD and pension incomes i am in the buy-sell-trade business and run it out of the back of my jeep. I dumpster dive, stop at places with lots of “junk” in the yard, meet a lot of interesting people that way, go to yard sales, go to store front buy-sell-trade stores, find stuff along the road, dig up stuff in old forgotten dumps, etc etc etc. I make a little extra money that way, but also find some treasures i cannot part with and make some Incredible deals. My specialties are old iron tools, antiques furniture, and religious iconography. It keeps me busy and distracted and gives me…

White Candlemas Cat in Candlelight – Copyright GLHoke 2015

Members of the Coven of the Catta celebrated Candlemas and the almost Full Moon as solitaries due to the weather and circumstances but from what i see and hear the Rituals went well. I, Shawnus, did a simple ritual mostly working and praying for all my fellow coveners, family and friends who have been trough and are still in the middle of some tough times of late. A couple friends have had deaths in their families and one who is a handyman for me just had his sister, who practiced Witchcraft, die of a long strange illness. May Teala rest in peace and reincarnate into a healthy body and happier life. So Mote It Be.

Migration to the Red Lodge – first the Indian spirits, then the Animal spirits, now the Lwa

At the Red Lodge first the spirits of the Native Americans who once lived here. Then the spirits of the animals now dead but reincarnated and preserved in their bones wanted to migrate over there, “far away from the road”, which is i say as a blessing when i see a critter killed along the road. Then the Native American spirits, as they have done for over a decade here, took up residence. Then ole Doc Santee wanted a place like his lodge he had out in the mountains, a place of peace and quiet to sip sherry and talk philosophy. Now some of the Vodoun Lwa, the ones with animal heads or tails or other parts have migrated over there too, including La Sirene and La Dominadora, Naginis of Water and Earth, I listen and comply as my UPG tells me…

I met a new friend today who i will teach Solomonic Magicke to. They had a should bag with this gold pin from their Gramma, a shield with the name ADONAI on it in Hebrew. I had to laugh since Adonai is the name of G-d in our Coven and the name i use for the highest accessible aspect of G-d in my own personal QBL system.
