A few weeks in the life of an Appalachian Witch.
Got zero sleep, drove north to visit several people, arrived at dawn at Lady EWH’s place and she had this cool fake flame of paper waving upwards in a cauldron hanging in the dawn window and thought it pretty cool.
Still having no sleep i ventured on to Council Cup, the large mountain overlooking Wapwallopen where the Covenstead was. I had not been up there for decades when Lady Phoebe took me and our Priestess up to teach us how to draw the wind. It is a beautiful cold windy day with quite the view and directly across from the nuclear power plant so i got my glow on LOL. I tried to nap there unsuccessfully.
The onwards once again to Dr Santee’s grave (see videos in separate posts) and i took a few other pics of interesting markers and especially liked the quotes on a few below.
Finally it was late enough in the am that i stopped by Lady Persephone’s house and was graciously invited in. She is slowly getting rid of some of the large amount of books her late husband Don collected, since he worked at a book bindery, and she gave me a few and showed me the inside of Dr Santee’s “The Devil’s Wager” that he gave her with this writing and signature inside. Sorry i cannot make the image clearer.
Here are some pics of Don’s grave. He was a Veteran so has a flag. They cannot afford a tombstone yet so have this metal cat up. I printed out these pics and will mail them to her since she has never been up there d/t a stroke which affected her movements but not her mind which is clear as a bell. I think the cat is a fitting memorial to a member of the Coven of the Catta and stuck the periwinkle flower on its head.
I visited Lady Alsace but she was not home. I was So looking forward to taking a nap there. So i drove home exhausted, almost ran off the road, pulled over and took a power nap. A cop knocked on my window and said someone reported my erratic driving, which i am glad they did, but like i said i got it and pulled off myself. He pulled the ole familiar “i smell alcohol” line and did a breathalyzer test which was negative and i took another power nap then was carefully on my way home once again. Thank the Goddess i did not wreck and hurt someone. I will Never do that one again….
Don’t faint – this old hippie finally put out a SA flag for Veteran’s Day. God/ess bless those who have given their lives and served to preserve our freedoms.
Pics my bro took of me as we checked out the new bridge construction near our mum’s house.
