I went to an old German Lutheran Church in the Burg last Sunday.I
It was similar to the Catholic Church when Father John was there, but he is away in Jordon helping Syrian refugees, so now there is a Theologian Seminarian Father Ken who took his place in later Masses and who was dry as bones in his demeanor. I think he was out of his ivory tower comfort zone driving all the way up here from Maryland and he had to read the words of the Mass but he Did pull down YHShVH into the host. I talked with him for about a half hour or so and after a bit he started mentioning watching out for “evil demons sneaking into white Wicca” as he called it. I have the feeling he is training to be an exorcist but cannot prove it though i know that under Pope Benedict the number of exorcists was increased about a hundred fold, and somehow i think he may want to exorcise the evil witchcraft demons out of me, LOL. (Postscript – the next time i went that he was there he avoided me like the plague). Father John was more accepting, forgiving and loving and just said “God forgives all” and offered me a blessing and prayer of healing. Father Ken refused to give me any blessing for healing because “i was not a Catholic” but did “pray for me that i convert” basically. I can’t wait until John returns from doing the good work he is doing. This whole statement is not a reflection on either Priest, just my impression as an outsider, was outside.
Now at the German Lutheran Church dedicated to St Michael that i visited the Pastor Larry was Very nice and accepting of my faiths, and did Not try to convert me. We talked for about forty five minutes in his study over coffee and velvet cake, hmmm. What impressed me was that he understood Every magickal, witchcraft, Tibetan Buddhist and Hindu word i spoke to explain my position. I will meet with him again before he goes on vacation, perhaps in his study, perhaps along the river, perhaps over a nice Weissen beer at a local pub.
Some of the notes i took during the service were – as it was Pentecost the men mostly wore red and the women white. Reminds me of the original robes of the Coven of the Catta when Doc Santee and Janee ran it based on European witchcraft before they met Sybil Leek and were initiated into the BTW. He was talking about the resurrection of the body, something which theologically i find absurd, but he spoke of it was a healing of one’s body now, something which i can relate to totally. We become the dying god (choose from several Middle Eastern and North African religions) and then we become the healed perfected risen god. Opposite to the Catholic church, especially the one i went to the week before which did the old Mass in Latin, the altar where the Priest and Acolytes were was Not closed off as in the Jewish inner Temple Sanctuary, but people were encouraged to come on up and huddle together. Soooo may people gave me the handshake and even hug of Peace. Sooo many people were so welcoming, friendly and helpful, and it was nt from the desire to proselytize, but out of True Love, or as we say in our Witchcraft “Perfect Love and Perfect Trust”/ Up in his study he had a hand painted scroll of Michael, a deity wich whom i have quite an affinity. Yes the Catholic church was more blatant about worshiping Mary almost as a Goddess (don’t tell the theologians or Benedict, lol) because it was May aka Mary’s month aka the Return of Persephone in our Pagan religions.
From here i am going to stress WP to its max and try to loan sht loads of pics from St Michael’s having reduced the image size by three quarters. Enjoy and Blessed Be and Blessings to All, and don’t worry my friends and followers, i am Not giving up /Diana Astarte Hekate and Faunus Kernunnos Baphometus for YHShVH and Mariam….
This is the oldest stained glass window in the Church on the second floor outside the Rectory
Saint Michael / Mikael Archangelos – What he subdues in Buddhist terms is not “the devil” but one’s ego….
