At the Sarah Anne Lawless blog she recently wrote this post called Breaking Tradition, or, How the Death of Modern Witchcraft is a Myth. It is a well thought out and well written article that came out of a conversation she had with a good friend who is an elder Wiccan of the traditional path, contrasted with the newer growing more shamanic eclectic form of Witchcraft which is probably closer to the source, and how the two paths sometimes do not work together and sometimes do. And there are already lots of interesting comments, including my own, on this subject after the post. Enjoy and Blessed Be!

  1. That was a very thought provoking article. I can see that the traditionalists might be upset by the changes, but they were rebels too in their day. I think that people (in general – and not just in relation witchcraft) should take the time to be aware of their history and traditions – after all its how we got to where we are (and whether that is a good or bad place is for the individual to decide); at the same time though, its important to embrace change where it is for the positive.
