Another fun and beautiful event i got from Lauren’s A Practical Owl in a Wiccan World blog today was her story about walking with the Mardi Gras Indian tribe in New Orleans on St. Joseph’s Night. She expands on that event in her post A St. Joseph’s Night Experience on PaganSquare.com.

I just Loved the photos of the Krewe in their White Buffalo costumes as they are absolutely  beautiful. And i assume many of you know about the White Buffalo symbolism in AmerIndian culture.

The pictures were taken by Kenny Klein who graciously allowed me to post some here giving credit to him. Kenny is a great musician from what i have heard on videos and from a friend in NC, and a good writer from the Faerie book i read, and he is a pretty damned good photographer too. His website is at KennyKlein.net and his blog at Kenny Klein Explains It All which has tons more great pictures from this parade and other previous Mardi Gras Krewe parades. So enjoy the photos and writings about this wild and crazy event.

Front of Big Queen Rukia’s suit, she said that her totem was the Monarch Butterfly and that the fairy was there to represent her spirit.
