My fellow blogger at Karmapolice has posted a few articles on the Angels and Archangels as seen in Islamic religion and culture. As I cannot re-blog a Blogger site to a WordPress site (they compete of course) I will just give you the links below.
As a witch I have been trained in the Coven of the Catta to work with the main four Archangels Raphael, Michael, Gabriel and Uriel when we call them to the Watchtowers to “guard this circle and witness these rites.” I was also taught by Lady Phoebe (as written about in Mastering Witchcraft by Paul Huson) about these angels as being The Watchers who taught man the magickal arts and other useful skills.
And I have practiced some Solomonic magickes in which I evoke those same four Archangels plus Metatron in the zenith and Sandalphon in the nadir, thus making a circle into a sphere, myself being the archetypal magickian Solomon in the center.
But I have little knowledge about these same angels in the Islamic religions and am pleased to read these posts. The first one is Angels in Islam and the second one is Islamic View of Angels. And I pulled the lovely image above from her post too. Enjoy!
